    Everywhere...

    I know, I know......

I know I never post any entries after I came back from the long holiday from Yoga Teacher Training at Byron Bay, Australia and also touring around. Forgive me, I am too sluggish to blog!

The YTT was just AWESOME!!! I have the opportunity to explore my own, be it physically, mentally and spiritualty. I get to know a lot of new friends from all round the world! I truely am glad that I made a right choice to be there.

Let me show you around what did I do in Byron Bay and surrounding, start from the very beginning.....

Taking a plane is excited yet tiring! I flew from Singapore to Perth then from there to Brisbane.

Then took a 2-hours-ride-bus from Brisbane city to my final destination, Byron Bay!

The alley walk from my beach house to the store. It was too beautiful!

    And the lake!

Went for the grocery shopping spree at Woolworths.

Introducing my messy bedroom, gonna stay here for a month!

    Little TV,

    And little kitchen area attached.

The bread and dairy product were so fresh and tasty, and I had the bread EVERDAY without fail in Byron Bay (equals to my one year bread consumption back in Sg or M'sia!)

The cabin that shared with 3 other housemates.

Morning simple breakfast, coffee + bun + banana + webcam with Yang.

The Yoga Shala, the place where we practice asanas, lecturing and knowing each others.

Our lunch, kuskus + tomato + dal + corn wrap. What do you notice?
It was all vegetarian! And I was a devoted vegetarian for the whole month!

    Tallow beach.

    Just another sunny winter day!

Sundown view in front of my cabin.
And another day has just about to end but yet another day has just begun....

    Yoga accepts. Yoga gives.

Finally, I'v graduated and becoming a certified yoga teacher. I'm so glad that I went for this YTT. It has been a great inner journey and life-changing experience for me! Thanks for everyone in the course and I will be good in the future journey on my own! Cheers!

Update: I'm at Brisbane right now and just back from Gold Coast (went to Movie world and whale-watching cruise, it's just awesome!). Will be staying at Brisbane for a few days then travel to Sydney and Melbourne! How exciting! I will try to upload some beautiful pictures after I back to Sg. See ya!

    Day OFF

This is the first day off that I have for my Yoga teacher's training and it's the 6th day staying at Byron Bay, Australia. I was so excited as I can really explore the main beach and town area of Byron Bay after 4 days of intensive classes. It was a beautiful Saturday and I managed to do some grocery shopping for the rest of the week.
The training was hard. My brain was saturated by all those anatomy terms, asanas, meditation, yamas and niyamas. Lotsa homework and assignments due, and I can really feel the stressfulness as I'm staying with caucasian ladies. Well, I believe this would really be a life-changing experience and I will try my best to make it right.
P/S: Will try to update more pictures later but the internet connection seems slow and limited. Just stay tune!

    In search of yoga props

The value of props as a tool for all kind of alignment in yoga poses (Asanas) is indeniably beneficial for yoga practitioners.

During these 2 years of yoga practice, I know I need to get myself a pair of yoga blocks especially for my jump through and back poses. Whenever I pass by any sports or yoga store, I will peek at whatever accesories they have to gear up my yoga collections. But end up, I will just walk away with empty hand, and keep on delaying on buying one.

Until one day, my instructor recommended a shop that she usually get yoga products from, exxe.

There are 2 outlets in Singapore, one is at Velocity and the one that I went is located at the Orchard Central. At first, I have some doubt about the stuffs with Hello Kitty cartoon on it as it would be too girlish and pinkish for me (not my kind of style though).
But, when I first laid my eyes on the endearing light pinko Hello Kitty blocks,
I was yelling: " Sooooooo cute! You guys are coming home with me!"

    Awwwwww..... Aren't they cute?

The Hello Kitty performing a Upward Facing Dog pose - Urdhva Mukha Svanasana.

    Once again, it's super ccccccuuuuttteeeeee....

They even match with my Ikea's little pinky stool! (Sorry for the messy mussy room).

I'm so going to bring over this Nike yoga mat and HelloKitty block for my up-coming YTT, Yaaayyyyaaa!

Now what? I need to get a yoga strap to accessorize my yoga gear.

Strength, balance, flexibility, mind and body

I love sport, ever since I was young.

I joined rhythmic gymnastics during my primary 3 and I felt in love directly because it was so much fun moving around with the apparatus ( rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon). Later on I trained with a Russian coach for about 4 years time until I relinquished during my secondary 3, PMR exam year. I was too playful I didn't like to go for the tough training (everyday 3 hours before or after school). So I decided to quit and I took up Taekwondo until my black belt first dan, joined softball team as first baseman, and also taken part in inter-school basketball tournament. After my high school, I went out of my beloved hometown Kuantan, to further my studies at Nilai, 5 hours ride away from my home. Since then I seldom have time to go for exercise, more on clubbing, socializing (such a rebellious period). This was college life.

And now, I started picking up some yoga and cardio after prolonged inert routine of life (college and university).

    Here's my usual workout regime:

Monday: Power Yoga- 5 min pre-round warm up and a mild stretching, follow up by 15 to 20 min of non-stop sun salutation 1,2,3 and 4. Then, with different asanas (postures), including the Shavasana (the death pose) for the last 5 min calming down.

Tuesday: Hot yoga- A series of yoga poses done in a heated room, usually maintained at 37- 40.5°C . As you can imagine, a vigorous yoga session at heated room can really lead you to a profusely perspiration state and promotes detox effect which is good for shaping. I simply love hot!

Wednesday: Body pump- 1 hour of weight-based group-fitness training that strengthens and tones every muscle in your body. Follow by body combat- another 1 hour cardio workout choreograph with adrenaline-pumping songs and diverse type of moves including Karate, Muay Tai, Tai Chi, Kickboxing and Tae Kwan Do.

Thursday: Vinyasa yoga- pretty much similar with power yoga, except with flow and connecting postures.

Friday: Hot yoga or rest day!

Saturday: Body pump and body combat/ Hatha yoga (M)- more advance yoga poses including inversion postures (headstand, scorpio, handstand, etc), backbend, split and many more.

    Sunday: Rest day/ Slacking day!

    Half-backward bending

How I wish I could be like this, the-super-nanny when I'm old and strong enough like her!!!!
